Gradball 2017

So here it is, my first ever blog post!

Gradball 2017 was easily one of the best nights of my life so far. An evening of celebration put on by the University of Birmingham for soon-to-be grads and their friends, with live sets from huge acts Sigala and Disciples (!!!), as well as a fun fair and loads of food and drink.

It was so lovely to spend the night celebrating the last three years with my closest friends from university.  There have been plenty of up’s and down’s along the way, but I wouldn’t change my experience in any way. Although I’m sad that it’s all coming to an end, I’m excited for the future and the opportunities it will bring.

We had an incredible meal at Bank in Brindley Place, which I would 100% recommend, especially if you are celebrating, like we were. The service was amazing and despite being a large group of 18, our waiter was extremely diligent and returned every so often to top up our drinks and check that we were happy. We all ate from their Early Evening Menu which was amazing value at 2 courses for £17.50 per person. Try the Crispy Duck Salad and the Flat Iron Steak if you want to be wowed!

After our meal, we jumped in an Uber and headed to the Ball. The atmosphere was amazing and luckily the weather was on our side and the rain that was predicted never came. We were all so impressed with how well organised the night was (even though the bar did run out of VK’s – a Birmingham student staple).

All in all an extraordinary night, celebrating, drinking, dancing and generally being very happy and content in the company of my lovely friends.
